Love a one liner

Posted on

OTL loves a great one liner and there are plenty of great puns and one liners out there!  Great to see friend of OTL,  Jenny Collier on this list. Check out the link to the guardian below for their favourite 10 one liners.

Unfortunately none of resident MC Jeannie Jones’ one liners made it into Steve Best’s book but as OTL’s venue at Peebles rugby club tells her “keep trying”.

Lee Nelson added tour dates? Time to give the British Prime Minister her P45

Posted on

Simon Brodkin aka Lee Nelson, pulled possibility his biggest stunt so far in evading security at the tory party conference and giving the prime minister her P45 (the form people get in the UK when they are sacked or leave their job). Coincidence that this is great publicity for his autumn tour (tickets still available). OTL is wondering what prank it might play to gain free advertising for its gigs….. The police are reporting concerns that  ISIS maybe attending  comedy courses  to infiltrate the comedy circuit and plant sleeper cells of comedians to launch suicide “pranks”against prominent figures in public life.  Yeah good luck getting an open spot ISIS

Thanks to everyone who came along to Carrickvale on Saturday. Great sold out gig! Hope to see you all back for our next Carrickvale night on 29th November 2017! Special thanks to our fabulous headliner Vladimir McTavish, Cal Halbert, Ronnie Black and Wis Jantarnasorn. Your MC was Jeannie Jones and the man behind the scenes was Carrickvale’s own John Pow (great superhero name!).

Fashion bible Vogue, features 5 of the best British female comics

Link Posted on Updated on

OTL secretly loves fashion, secretly not because OTL keeps it quiet, but secret because no one would ever be able to tell, lets face it OTL hasn’t exactly nailed the fashionable, glamorous look.

The only way OTL would get to appear in the pages of Vogue magazine,  would be if the magazine did a feature about Scottish rural comedians with the most fashionable wellies and even then OTL would lose to wellington wearing farmer, turned comedian Jim Smith!

Great to see friend of OTL Fern Brady in this list!1800

Quotes

“Over the Lyne have hosted several hilarious and entertaining evenings of comedy here at West Linton Golf Club. The nights have been hugely popular, feedback from our members has been fantastic and have contributed greatly to our bar revenue. A very well organised and professionally run outfit, Over the Lyne offer exceptional value for money and I would have no hesitation in recommending them to other Clubs looking to re-invigorate their social calendar.” Scott Mackay, Secretary, West Linton Golf Club

“Massive thank you to Over The Lyne for organising a comedy night in memory of my husband, Ian Morrison, to raise money for cancer charities and The Margaret Kerr Unit at BGH. The evening was a major success thanks to the professionalism and quality of all the acts and comperes involved. Every one of the acts tailored their material to the West Linton audience, very impressive. Over 120 people attended and raved about what a great, hilarious night it was. So much so they are demanding we make it an annual event! And, most importantly, we raised way more than we expected for our charities. I know Ian will be smiling with pride wherever he is!!!! Thanks again. Jacqui Morrison.”
